Events are memories experienced as thoughts in your mind. Your recollection is colored by the teacher you choose, and your feelings a result of what you learned.

Yet it is you who decide who you learn from. Therefore are you the determiner of your own thoughts and feelings, which you offer unto your Father as testament to His love for you. Whenever you feel unhappy, be sure you have chosen to learn of God from the ego.

Everything that seems to happen to you, and everything you see, is used as a learning device to understand your Father. There is no exception to this rule. You always ask interpretation of a teacher, whose only power to keep you unhappy lies in the ego’s ability to convince you that you do not decide who your teacher is, as evidenced by all your learning in this world.

Yet there have been exceptions which have led to miracles, and so you must have learned this lesson which the Holy Spirit keeps safe for you.

I am God. You are my son. There is no exception to this, and everything you do extends love unto Me and unto you. Love is the ultimate means of communication, through which I send you messages of peace and healing for you to extend unto others, and thus to heal and to be healed as one.

What past events that I define as extraordinary do I use to hold me back from a full appreciation of the present by my relentless use of them as basis of comparison to this moment, now?

Past And Future Events

Past and future events are both visualized. Have you ever imagined the way something would happen, only to experience it as different than you had pictured in your mind? Are not these images as clear as memories from your past, the only difference being your ready willingness to dismiss them for their obvious lack of truth?

Thus should you find your willingness to dismiss all thoughts that make you unhappy, for they could never exist in the mind of your Father and make you unhappy host.

Thoughts not shared must lead to unhappiness because they exist only in your mind and are therefore unreal and impossible to attain. And then you become angry with your Father and attempt to use their nonexistence as evidence of His. Happiness is only possible when you seek first to share thoughts and then ask what you should do.
